A glimpse of our history
Our name, "Bidi", pays homage to a great man, without whom we wouldn't be here today (literally!): Benedito Rezende Pimenta, or Didi, to his friends, or even Bidi, as he was called by his grandchildren!

Born in 1922, Bidi inherited the vision and tradition in coffee farming from his great-grandfather, Antônio Pimenta de Pádua. In the early 1940s, Bidi ventured into the lands of northern Paraná, which would emerge as a major coffee-producing state later in that decade, and where he remained for 10 years. By the 1950s, Bidi returned to São Sebastião do Paraíso, where he married Maria Olímpia in 1954 and established himself as a coffee farmer on the border between Minas Gerais and São Paulo, while still maintaining his plantations in Paraná.
In 1960, he purchased the Santo Amaro Farm, which encompassed the area of the current Pé da Serra Farm, where part of our specialty coffee comes from. In 1968, it was the turn of the Monte Alto Farm to enter Bidi's plans. With a forward-thinking vision, coupled with experience dealing with frosts, in the 1980s, Bidi decided to give up coffee in Paraná and part of Minas, seeking to diversify his economic activities, thus investing in cattle farming in the state of Goiás, located in the Brazilian Midwest. In 1992, due to a stroke, Bidi had to step back from business, but he never stopped accompanying his family on visits to the farms! In 1997, Bidi left us physically, but his legacy will remain with our family for many generations!
A PERFECT COFFEE FOR SPECIAL MOMENTS
Currently, we distribute in Brazil, to cafes, gourmet shops, and end consumers, roasted coffee in both whole bean and ground forms, in packages of 1kg, 500g, and 250g. This coffee is a blend of the "Arara" and "Mundo Novo" varieties and undergoes a carefully medium roast to ensure and highlight its best characteristics. With a mild acidity, one can perceive sensory notes of citrus fruits, sugarcane, and caramel.
In addition to "Bidi Specialty Coffee," Fazenda Monte Alto produces several other high-quality coffee varieties, exporting and selling to major local companies. In partnership with NuCoffee, we produce exceptionally high-quality fermented specialty coffee.
